Calgary Renaissance Singers and Players are pleased to announce our first in-person concert since December, 2019, Rediscovering the Renaissance. Under the direction of our Acting Artistic Director, Paul Grindlay, we are excited to be singing for a live audience again on Sunday, December 4 at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church.
This will be a diverse program, with music from Medieval plainchant, through seasonal Renaissance favourites, a tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II and loved ones lost during the pandemic, plus new music by Ola Gjeilo, Morten Lauridsen and Kerensa Briggs. You can expect joy, reverence, sadness, prayer, and even humour (in a short dramatic interlude featuring two of our choristers).
Joining us for this concert are instrumentalists Ralph Maier on theorbo and organist Colin Redekop, as well as Paul Grindlay as bass soloist. Come join us for another  excursion into the world of early music.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite  as well as from choir members. Prices are $25 regular, $20 student and senior, and free for under 18.  There is a pay-what-you-can option at the door.
